May 11, 2015

We went to the park by the Brooklyn bridge again to play rugby for p-day last week and we saw President Obama fly into Manhattan which was pretty cool.

This week we have zone conference on Tuesday and then ZTM on Friday so we have lots of long meetings this week.

It is getting warmer here and more humid, one thing I won't miss after my mission is the humidity.

We won't have the mission van this week so we are kind of scrambling to find a way to be able to clean out an apartment in Brooklyn on Wednesday so that will be interesting.

We had our investigator that is working toward baptism come to church again and he told everyone that he is going to be baptized which is cool.

It was nice skyping home yesterday.  It was good to see everyone.

May 4, 2015

Hello everybody,

I haven't done this in a while so I might as well attempt to start again now.  I am going to hit my 9 month mark this week which is pretty exciting.  I am still in the office with Elder Booth for my fourth transfer in the office and my second with Elder Booth.  The number of missionaries in the mission is downsizing so that means more office work for us.  By the end of the transfer we will be cleaning out 10 apartments.  The worst one is over though.  It was a house in the Hampton Bays, it takes a journey and a half to get there so we were lucky that we only had to take one load.  One nice thing about being in the office for six months now is that I know almost all of the missionaries.

We do a lot of proselyting as well.  This area is known as the place where most of the work gets done.  We are working on reactivating a bunch of families and we also are working with a guy we met a few weeks back.  He is a very humble guy and loves God.  He works three jobs, one in Queens and the other two are in Manhattan so we have to catch him and teach him in the subway which is pretty interesting.  He is excited and wants to be baptized as soon as possible.

One thing I have learned these past few months is that sometimes missionaries focus too much on the numbers.  I have learned that if you don't worry about the numbers and care about the people, the more they want to change.

We have been playing basketball with a bunch of kids and now a lot of them are becoming more and more interested in learning the gospel.

Happy New Year everybody!

This week was a slow one because both me and my companion had a sinus infection all week.  On Wednesday it was New Year's eve so we had to be in our apartment at 6:00, so we got together with the Spanish missionaries and the sisters living in the apartment building and we played Monopoly and Risk until 10:00 which was really fun.

On Thursday we had to bring mattresses to the Bushwick, Brooklyn apartment because they had a little bit of a bedbug situation over there.  The rest of the week was kind of slow since we both got sick and we didn't want to spread the sickness all over the mission.

Today for p-day we are going to the Brooklyn bridge.
